Our Role in the Community
Operation Morning Star is an inter-faith cross cultural organization duly registered with and authorised by the Department of Social Development.
Operation Morning Star is dedicated to providing care and upliftment of children, women, men and old age pensioners who are either mentally handicapped or physically disabled, have no families or have been rejected by their families. As such, these people are solely dependant upon their government grant or pension.
Operation Morning Star assists, wherever possible, with finance, accommodation, food, clothing, transport and medication.
We are involved with our own projects and also network with other organizations in order to uplift them in whatever way we can.
Based in Benoni we have the capability to operate country-wide, thanks to our networking system. Persons can be referred to us via the Department of Social Development, the SAPS or by local churches. We will endeavour to assist them directly or indirectly.
In a nutshell, Operation Morning Star represents the PEOPLE who cannot represent themselves.
We believe that everyone has the right to be loved, cared for and respected.
Without the assistance of the community in general and open-hearted people and organizations we are fully aware that we could not exist.
Achievements to Date

We currently endeavour to assist some 10 disadvantaged adolescents who share a communal dwelling in Boksburg

We are negotiating with Aloe Systems to operate a weekly soup kitchen in the southern suburbs of Johannesburg

We are privileged to have the voluntary services of a fully qualified medical doctor and and also an attorney who are on hand to assist indigent persons where necessary
-
We are currently searching for a suitable house or plot in order to accommodate old age pensioners
